• Re: Testing not-signed-in without Code 7
I'm trying to test what will happen when a user purchases my game, and then starts it without having signed in to Live. However, when I deploy my game, then exit out of everything, sign out, and then start my game, I get a Code 7 error. Is this what will happen to a real, purcahsed game as well? Or is there ...
I know that it's a bit self gratifying to ask, but is there a karma or reputation system on this forum? I'd really like to rep you two for the help.
No system like that that I know of. But you'll find that extremely helpful people are the norm around here. We've got an active community ...

  • Re: Networking Support and Premium Membership

FYI, there's a very handy chart in the Game Studio documentation. Just search in the index for "membership". The information above (at the time of this writing) is slightly incorrect. To test between 2 PC's using Live over the Internet, you do need a premium Creators Club membership for each PC, however as of Fall 2008, you do ...

  • Re: starter kit

UPDATE: the installer for the Windows version of Racing Game is now available. You should be able to install this whether you have XNA Game Studio 3.0 or 3.1.
  • Re: starter kit
I've written all above before downloading Racer starter kit. I thought I'd need just to convert it from GS2.0 to 3.0. But kit's .msi installator terminates installation as it couldn't find VC# 2005 Express or VS2005 Standart Edition or higher. Here is what my VS2008 writes about itself. Any ideas ...
  • Re: starter kit

You can use Game Studio 3.0 or 3.1 with the Skinned Model sample. Please note, though, that the 2.0 version of this sample doesn't upgrade smoothly using the Game Studio 2.0 -> 3.0 conversion wizard. However, there's a simple workaround that I explain in a thread here. An update to this sample will also be released soon. Sorry for the ...

  • Announcement: Updated Installers for Starter Kits

What's New: With the release of XNA Game Studio 3.1, we have replaced all the version 3.0 starter kit installers with new MSI files to address an installation problem when XNA Game Studio 3.1 is installed. If you downloaded any XNA Game Studio 3.0 starter kit installer before June 11, 2009, you may wish to download the new installer so the ...
  • Re: Starter Kits and 3.1
No I could not install the starter files but I've fixed the issue.  I must have had older starter kits even though they said 3.0 it isn't the same version as on the server new.  I download mine a few months ago before 3.1.  Looks like the installer I had did not support 3.1.  I redownloaded the files and ...
