• Re: Suggestions: fixing the currently broken review/jail time system

Someone failed someone for high scores not registering once a player signed out and signed in again yesterday.
While I agree that's no reason to fail, is that honestly something a game should ship with?
No, but it's unlikely to be fixed as the ...

  • Re: Why such low downloads for community games? (CHANNEL FATIGUE)
I strongly feel that sorting by user ratings (or metacritic, or a combination), and perhaps better sub-genre categorization, are the ways to make XBLCG valuable.  Sure, adding XBLA features like leaderboards and achievements will put us on equal footing technically, but what's really setting us ...

  • Re: not too good press but press

The reason many people are talking about "The Weapon of Choice Guy" is Nathan currently represents the best of what's possible with XBLCG, so there's going to be justifiably plenty more talk about him from those with business sense. The reason I and many others are not in the same boat as Nathan is DBP 2008 worked as an early ...

  • Re: unexpected token 'break' in effect.
It's possible this only became supported in a more recent shader model level, perhaps 3.0? Have you tried compiling the relevant shader as vs/ps 3.0?
No worries, it's being compiled under 3.0.
XNA uses an old fx compiler and that command ...

  • unexpected token 'break' in effect.

Hi, I'm using a dynamic pixel shader loop and I'm trying to exit out of it early with a "break" statement as per the Nov 2008 SDK docs, but the statement is not recognized and I have yet to find an example to see where I'm going wrong. Any tips here?

  • Re: Not realy the kind of press we where looking for
The DBP competition entries weren't XBLCG games.
The video was under Game Market Place / Community Games, pretty simple.
Look at the top 20 entries for DBP - how many are out on XBLCG now, 3 weeks after launch?  How many were out ...

  • Re: Not realy the kind of press we where looking for
arrogancy:  You realise MS threw a party and invited a load of press directly to the launch event where they could play the DBP games (and they got a lot of playtime)?  As I said, and someone else did too, if they advertised the DBP games now then it takes away from XBLCG.  All we'd hear is ...
Wow, 3-4 weeks into community games being live and with absolutely no factual evidence of sales or download numbers and "we" can officially call it a failure? No offense segarr, but you have no way of knowing how well things are going. I know we, as the XBLCG team, haven't released numbers ...

  • DrawIndexedPrimitives gives memory error.

Hi, I just converted a project from XNA 2.0 to 3.0, it's a couple of months old but as best I remember it was working no problem on 2.0. On calling DrawIndexedPrimitives() the message "Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt." is generated, on 360 the same call ...
