• Re: Any chance for a one-time exception to re-pricing rule?

Thanks Jenkmeister.  I knew it was a long shot, but you never know until you ask. :) @ZMan: You beat me to marking that as the answer.  Give other people a chance to try out some of the new forum functions. ;)
Doubtful an exception will be made as it would have to be made for everyone.
That's exactly what I'm asking for, a one-time exception for everyone that wants it.  I know I can't be the only person who thinks one of my very recent releases would fit much better in one of the new ...

  • Any chance for a one-time exception to re-pricing rule?

Is there any chance of Microsoft throwing out a one-time exception to the 90 day re-pricing rule to us developers because of the recent changes to allowable prices? I doubt I'm the only one in this situation.  My game Sky Defender would fit much more nicely into the 80 point category than the previous bottom of 200 points.  The ...

  • Re: Wait wait.... WHAT?!? No 800 point games?

As a consumer I am totally excited about a race to the bottom on pricing.  I will now be able to get a lot more games in the search for that elusive gem, or more realistically just spend less money on the few games I do buy. As a developer I am saddened about the race to the bottom.  Many other places you look (movies, retail games, ...

  • Re: Limited-Time Free Download for Marketing purposes?
I wish there was a way to get around this 200 point minimum for issues like this... being able to give a copy to gaming press would be another ideal situation, as I suspect many of the bloggers reviewing the game are reviewing the trial game and not the full version.
My experience with StrikeForce ...

  • Re: Limited-Time Free Download for Marketing purposes?

Something you could try, if you just want it to go to developers and not the general public, is to release it to playtest or as a ccgame package on your website with some code that checks the date on the console.  You could then pop up a message that the timed demo is over at the end of the month.  Of course people could change the ...

  • Re: Download History Feature Request...sort of

I actually prefer it the current (date descending) way.  It makes it easier to tell if the newest data is there quickly, and it's a real pain to hit the sort buttons on a cell phone browser.  The scroll bars don't show up on my iPhone so I used to have to enlarge and move it around and re-sort to get the newest at the top so I ...

  • Re: Pass games that don't allow proper exit?

This is a very interesting discussion.  I have an exit option on the menu in my game, and plan to always have it in future games, because it frustrates me to have to use the guide to essentially kill a game and get out of it rather than a graceful exit.  I have noted it as annoying in reviews, but haven't ever failed a game for not ...

  • Re: Need some wma audio advice.

You can change the compression quality in the processor settings for the songs to keep smaller bit rates and file sizes.  Check here for details on what each setting does - http://blogs.msdn.com/etayrien/archive/2008/09/22/audio-input-and-output-formats.aspx

  • Re: 3d models exported into 2d sprites?

I'm one of the beta testers for a new tool that is being made exactly for this purpose.  It is SpriteWorks by Envy Games. (http://www.envygames.com/content/?p=116)  It converts 3d models and animations into sprite sheets. I'm using it in my game to convert 3d character models from packs I've bought.  You can see an ...
