  • NVIDA Nexus

I was on my through the NVIDIA dev site about to download a copy of FX Composer(my favorite shader authoring program), and I stumble across this new thing called NVIDIA Nexus. It's a full blown shader debugger for Visual Studio, and the ability to step through shader code, add watches and immediate mode for HLSL makes me giddy like a ...

  • Re: XSI crash need help please.

Yes, you can make this a permanent thing by right clicking the XSI shortcut in the start up menu clicking Properties, clicking the "Compatability Mode" tab, check "Run As An Administrator", and click Apply.
  • Re: XSI crash need help please.

Are you running as administrator? I had to do that otherwise XSI would get pissy and start crashing randomly.
  • No Hair in XSI Mod Tool Pro?

Hi there, I just downloaded XSI Mod Tool Pro after signing up for the CC License, and I've figured out how to get into Pro Mode by selecting Modes > XSI Default (Pro Mode). It looks to mirror the full version of XSI, with all the bells and whistles, but for some reason everything in the Hair section is greyed out. According to the news post ...
  • Re: HLSL Reference & Documentation

Although it is still in beta, when I don't feel like loading up FX Composer, I use Intelishade. http://www.intelishade.net/. Its an addon for VS 2005 that gives syntax highlighting and Intellisense. Although it seems like sometimes I start typing a keyword, and I hit Enter and it doesn't fill out the keyword. It could just ...

  • Re: Dynamic Laanguages (Esp Iron Python) and XNA GS???

What about the potential for a scripting language like Python or Lua as an addon to XNA.  Mainly for scripting events, since it would be nice to have some of my non .NET teammates script the events in python, and then the game automatically consume it at runtime, that way they wouldn't have to touch the compiler to see changes. ...

  • Sample Contract for group of dev'rs

Okay, so I have a few friends and we're making a game for XNA together. Now we've all been friends for a very long time and there is a great deal of trust there. However, we all know what may happen when there is money involved. Does Microsoft have any sample legal documents to serve as a contract between game developers so that when the ...
