• [WANTED] 2D Artist for RPG/puzzle game

Hello, Im looking for a 2D Artist to help me to complete an Independent RPG/puzzle game for the Xbox 360.  Details about the game can be found on my development blog.  The game is approximately 2/3 complete in development. A little bit about myself and the project:  Ive been a professional developer for about 9 years currently ...

  • Re: Give the elder one a new chanche
I know I've kicked myself in the butt every day for putting Bloc up before the actual launch because it means that nobody who wasn't in the NXE Beta would have seen Bloc as a new arrival.
I know what you mean.  My game was the first on the service and never got on the new arrivals ...

  • Re: New Arrivals is broken and open to abuse. Vote on connect if you care about this issue.

My title was the very first released back on Nov 3.  I never appeared in the new arrival or most popular list with a full audience (I was for the beta/preview users, but that was a very small audience).  Now my game has sunk to the bottom (and I don't think it is a bad game).  It is buried on marketplace.  I am starting to ...

  • Re: Players can't find Community Games! Please help fix this!

Furthermore, if your game isn't on the most popular or new arrivals lists, it is even more buried.  It's hard to browse, I can see how people won't even find them.  And it only shows the first 20 of new arrivals.  Games that were approved on Monday aren't new arrivals anymore due to the volume of games coming ...

  • Re: Invalid SSN/TIN?

I got the same thing.  I wrote my SSN without dashes and with my full legal name exactly as I write it on my taxes.  I even got a social security statement recently and compared the name on that to the name I wrote.  Something seems to be wrong here...

  • Re: Yikes! Everyone else's games are only 200 points!

Although by no means related to XNA or games in general, you may get something out of Eric Sink's article on software product pricing: http://www.ericsink.com/bos/Product_Pricing.html.  There's a lot of good information on the business of software on his site, and it might help you even if it isn't written exclusively for this ...

  • Re: How old are you, and when did you begin programming?

Since practically everyone else has replied, I should too... I'm 27.  I started programming at around 12 or 13.  My first language was C.  I made a few games in C with DirectX in the late 90s, that was fun.  It really wasn't until I got a BS in computer sciences that I started to really think about and understand ...

  • Re: Guidelines -vs- Requirements , etc . . .

I was thinking of writing an article (perhaps for the ziggyware contest) entitled "How to get your Community Game to pass peer review (and why that shouldn't even be your goal!)".  The point of it is that you should strive to meet all of the best practices and treat them as requirements and you should care a lot about that - not ...
