  • Re: So, how much is *THIS* game worth? (Biology Battle)

Huh, that's interesting. Our company does a lot of business with Japan, so this is what we've been seeing, and I just assumed it was like that across the board. So does that mean Japan's having greater issues than we are, then?

Heh, this is a terrible place to ask for a game price if you're wanting 'objectivity'. Only got poor college students and independent developers saving every dime are going to respond to you here. Unless that's the only audience for your game, of course. Keep in mind that there are still games outside of the 360 that sell for ...

  • Re: CoDe Magazine article - “Microsoft XNA: Ready for Prime Time?”

That's probably one of the most in-depth articles I've seen in quite some time.  Most of the articles that get tossed around on the interwebs nowadays are extremely shallow one-offs, a few paragraphs long, aiming to get social bookmarked, it seems.  Well done.About how long did that take you to research and put together?  I've been ...

  • Re: Heavy Weapon made with XNA?

'' least on the website linked above it says its done in XNA..''It couldn't have been done in XNA, or else Schizoid wouldn't be billed as ''the first XBLA game made with XNA''.

  • Re: Heavy Weapon made with XNA?

First of all, it looks like GameTrailers got the title confused, since it appears that Tank Buster and Heavy Weapon are two completely different games.Second, since Heavy Weapon is a Popcap game, it was almost certainly developed using Popcap's Developer Framework.  It's free for people to use (and to sell games with), and I experimented with ...

  • Re: I know it's a little early but when's the next DBP?

Considering they decided to go above and beyond their promises of the contest and quadruple the number of offered contracts, I think they'd be insane not to make this a yearly thing, especially since the quality is sure to be even better next year since the contest has gotten exposure and attention and people will have a full year to prepare for ...

  • Re: [DPB Finalist] Proximity HD - Demo!

Thanks a lot, ZMan.  I really appreciate you taking those pictures.Looks like they ran mine in Windows mode, not XBox 360 mode.  Maybe I should have gotten the Fullscreen update to them sooner. As for the distribution, this is what they sent me about it: ''Additionally, as a part of showcasing Dream-Build-Play, we would like to make your ...

  • Re: Congratulations to the Dream.Build.Play Winners

Understood. You guys seriously look like you did a great job, and Microsoft has been incredibly extra generous.I'd love to get a chance to try out the winning games, as they look like I would easily sink a lot of time into them, and I'm just glad that we have this opportunity to quickly make innovative games and share them with other ...

  • Re: Recomend Best C# and xna book

Killjoy77:I got the same book, it definately expects you have a baseline understanding of coding and C# before you start using the book.Granted, they assume some C# knowledge, but if you have prior Java or OOP C++ experience it's not really that difficult to look at the example code and translate the syntax.  I knew almost nothing of C# ...

  • Re: Recomend Best C# and xna book

I would not have understood XNA quicky enough to finish a game for the DBP contest if it weren't for Professional XNA Programming by Wrox.  Now they DON'T always explain everything they do, so it assumes some previous OOP and programming skills and ability to check some of the examples, but it was enough for me to start making some real ...
