  • Re: I must be getting bad at this. So im sorry.

It also tends to strike you when you least expect it. I thought Neo Terra was pretty well tested, but alas I was indeed proven wrong at the 75% mark, just like Star Gaming Network said, the closer you get to 100% the more people try out edge cases as people before them tend to have tested the main cases. I'm also a tester as my main job, ...

I've been through that too, and it is not fun. Although, you should take into consideration the frustration your customers will get if the bug went live on Xbox Live. There is always a saying that nobody complains about a game being delayed if it is really good, but everyone complains about a on-time buggy game. Also be sure to not stress ...

  • Re: Contemplating if to make the update to a game a new game

I decided to take a hybrid approach. Since I technically updated the old game with some newer features but not enough to consider it a new game I submitted that for review as an update. I am now working on a branched code with new features that dramatically change the gameplay, although still similar art style and pacing. This will evolve ...

Cool, I just wanted to know what the community felt about major enough updates to be called a different game. Time for change is now :)

  • Contemplating if to make the update to a game a new game

I've been working on improving Gum Drop Celestial Frontier, and the game has changed alot. New graphics, new playstyle, new sounds, new code. Basically the game has change about more than 50%. I have not had good sales with the original game nor a very high download rate. I am concerned that if I do decide to make this an update to an existing ...

  • Re: XNA Game Studio 3.1 Zune Extensions

I've never worked on the zune before, but how does deployment work on Zune HD? Do I just plug it in and I can deploy to the device? Also how about emulators?

  • Re: XNA on Windows Mobile

Since XNA on the 360 is based on the cf framework, porting it over to WinMo and Zune is probably a trivial task. I'm sure the fine boys over at Redmond has something cooking up... I really think it is a matter of when, especially with the iPhone being the 800 lb gorilla. Remember the original Xbox? It was the Microsoft answer to the ps2. Now ...

  • So... Games for Windows Live 3.0 Launched

Question is.. how will it benefit us indies? Nada.. But they did add piracy protection, and in game downloads. Maybe next version will support Indie Games? I hope so...

  • Re: Why do Indie games get relatively few trial downloads?

I've been able to promote my game to around a dozen game sites (both my free PC version and Xbox Version) but still get relatively low trials. I know my game is not the cream of the crop nor is it the bottom crap, but I've only gotten ~1500 trials in the last 2 weeks :( I'm also guessing I'm butchering my own trials on the xbox ...

  • Re: How Did You Guys Learn All This Stuff????

I got myself a degree in Computer Science and wrote code like there was no tomorrow. So basically educate yourself and apply that education :)
