    I hadn't touched my graphics card drivers so I'm not sure how it suddenly became an issue. Installed the latest Catalyst drivers though and the problem has now gone :) yay! Thanks!

    What is the error that you are getting? Your code looks correct to me. I don't use this.spriteBatch when passing it around, I just use spriteBatch. has your Hero class got the using line? using Microsoft.Xna.Framework; using Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Graphics;
