No XNA for VS2008? Or at lease now

I checked out the site with all of the new VS2008 betas (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/express/future/default.aspx ) and theres nothing about XNA for the game devolpment stuff, just VB, C# and C++. Is XNA built into them or is there going to be an add on deal for the XNA stuff like there was for C#2005?

I'm sorry I cant spell. My school never had spell check. *sob*

XNA Game Studio will continue to be a separate product from Visual Studio for the foreseeable future. You are correct that there is no XNA Game Studio offering in the VS 2008 Betas. Our schedule for releasing new versions is not the same as Visual Studio. However, since we are not tied to their release schedule, it means you'll actually get more frequent updates from us than you would otherwise.

So VS and XNA Game studios is going to be to diffrent complires now? If I remember right I herd there was going to be a retail XNA Game studios for $100 his year or next year, or was that the $100 12 month Creators club thing.

No, you are misunderstanding. Neither one is a compiler, so I'm not sure where to begin explaining...

Visual Studio is an IDE (Integrated Development Environment). XNA Game Studio is basically an SDK (software development kit) that integrates into the VS IDE. I thought you were asking if VS 2008 will include XNA Game Studio. It will not. That does not mean that a future version of XNA Game Studio will not integrate into VS 2008. The point I meant to make is that you will continue to obtain these two things separately, which means nothing will change in that regard.

XNA Game Studio Express is free. The XNA Creators Club subscription, which is not needed to use XNA Game Studio Express, is $99 per year. We have not announced pricing for any other product or service, AFAIK, so you must be thinking of the Creators Club subscription.

Details of the XNA Creators Club subscription are available on this site. You need a subscription in order to develop games for the Xbox 360.

The $100 was for the somewhat announced (via readme files) and highly speculated XNA professional... see http://forums.xna.com/thread/10376.aspx

In that thread, you say, "There have been rumours of a price of $100, but I have been unable to find any Microsoft source for this information so unless someone can point me to an official statement we will have assume this is speculation."

I can assure you that as far as I know this is just a rumor and we haven't announced pricing on any such product or service. If you can point me to a reliable source for this rumor, I'm willing to accept that I am wrong. I suppose it's possible that Microsoft announced something without telling me about it! ;-)

Yep I agree and thats why I also asked for proof. I debated leaving the amount out of the FAQ but so many people claim to have heard it that if I left it out it would have been the first question asked about it.

My suspicion is that in all the XNA Express/Creators club announcements the $99 CC membership somehow morphed into the $100 for Professional speculation.

If you have any comments on the FAQ just reply and I will incorporate them into the main post... like I just did with this one ;-)

We have never discussed or disclosed any pricing on XNA Game Studio Professional.  Any references to such in the FAQ here should be removed.  Thanks Andy!

So basicly there might  be a retail XNA Game studios thats like the retail VS2005 versions but only for game devolpoment stuff not a templet like what Xbox 360/Windows Game/Library is right now? Because if it is if there is going to be one I would like to see no fees for making xbox games and sending them over.
