XnaLiveProxy makes start up slow.

Hey, I'm having a problem with XnaLiveProxy on one of my machines, it takes ages to start, probably 30 seconds, whereas on my other (slower) machine, it takes about 3 seconds. I don't have a dual core so it isn't that. Any ideas?

Yes they are both connected to the net? Firewall or NAT problem perhaps? Is there any ports that should be open?

The only time i've had slow starts is when there is no internet connection as it's trying to communicate with windows live and it's not there.
There shouldn't be any NAT problems if the computers are on the same network and using the same firewalls. Might be worth checking what else you have running and seeing if anything is tying it up. Other than that i can't really see what could be causing the slow starts sorry.

Cheers. I think it's probably related to a networking issue, my router is acting up lately too.

The DNS resolution is probably failing instantly, letting the XnaLiveProxy.exe process fail to connect instantly. If the network is just slow/unreliable, you have to wait for the connection to timeout.

That's it alright, turned off the DNS and gave myself a static IP, without DNS it loads instantly, with DNS it takes a while.
