To get good drifting behavior in a tyre simulation, you really need to write your own tyre (and probably suspension) model. The one that's built-into JigLibX just won't do. There are some articles on the web, and in game physics books, about various levels of car simulation, although it's pretty scattered showers. In general, I suggest you get an iron grip on 3D linear algebra (matrices, vectors, orthonormal bases, the inner and outer products, etc), becaue you WILL need it to reach your goal. Plus, it's a skill whose value does not diminish over time :-)
