    PeerToPeer sample problems

Hello everyone. I'm fairly new to XNA but I'm working on an ambitious project involving multiplayer Space combat.

I'm currently working on the multiplayer aspect of the game, and I decided to use the PeerToPeer sample as a starter point in order to understand the networking capabilites. The problem I have is that I am unable to properly run the sample. Every time I try to sign in with my account details, it throughs an exception saying I need a Creators Club account in order to continue.

I've checked, and it is in fact using SystemLink, so theoretically the sample should let me connect 2 clients.

Could it be a port issue? I'm currently testing using two laptops behind a wireless router.

I'm kinda in a hurry to get this issue solved, so I would appreciate any help. If you want, you can contact me at andresfmol - AT - hotmail - DOT - com.

    Many thanks!

That sounds like you are signing in a Live profile. Even though you are only using system link, you need the Creators Club subscription in order to be able to sign in using a Live profile at all.

The solution is easy: just create a new local profile, and say no when it asks whether you want to join Live.

Ah! Well that seems to do the trick in my computer. I feel rather stupid right now. Heh.

Unfortunately, I don't have the other laptop with me right now, so I'll have to wait until later tonight before I can test this properly.

I'll keep you updated, and thanks for the help.

Tried it, and it infact works properly over systemLink. :)
