Convert Mod Tool stuff to Foundations? Possible?

I can't seem to find an easy way to get a rigged character from Mod Tool into the Foundations 30 day trial.  Is it possible?  It seems Mod Tool uses .exp for its scene files, but Foundations uses .scn  Am I thinking wrong here, or will I have to re-rig my models when I buy Foundations?

    Thanks.

Can you use COLLADA to go from one to the other? (.DAE extension)

I know that, in the past, the free versions of various content creation tools have purposefully been crippled, so that you can't use them with the higher-cost tools, to avoid studios buying one or two copies of the expensive tool, and then using the free tool for most of the work...

Using Crosswalk (working in both Modtool and XSI) is not crippled with the exception of the 64k triangles/mesh. Skinning, bones, IK and animation are all nicely preserved. However, constraints and expressions are not. It should not take long to rebuild them though and you could probably use a script to create custom data so you can carry these around.
